Doc has given me three different kinds of eye drops and none of them get rid of this entirely. My left eye tears up during the day and crusts over at night, but not a lot...just more than normal.l can tell there sometimes is fluid in the eye socket in the sinus area but it is not the sinuses. My doc is a general practitioner who sent me to an optometrist but has yet to give me the referral to an ophthalmologist.l just worry if l have some eye disease or condition no-one is catching.

Work on the computer definitely exacerbates the condition but I am not convinced it is purely eye strain because it affects mostly one eye but not the other.

What might this be?
l do not wear contacts.l do sometimes wear computer glasses with a protective coating to reduce glare and eye strain although they are only minimally effective.

Left eye gums up every day and doc hasn't found the magic remedy. Could eye strain from laptop be the culprit

It is possible that you could have epithelial membrane dystrophy where the cells of the cornea are not lying flat and they get torn off when you blink or open you eye in the morning.

Could also be some sort of allergy.

Sometimes, you can get rosacea in the eye itself (do websearch to find out more).
