l have been diagnosed with intermittent exotropia. l can control my eyes and make them converge on the same location, but it requires effort and l frequently have eyestrain and photophobia. The doctor told me my deviation is 15 degrees in each eye and that it is more apparent when l am looking at things up close rather than at a distance. The ophthalmologist recommended surgery. l am just curious about what counts as ''moderate'' exotropia. Is 15 degrees a large deviation?

Thanks!

What is strabismus? Do I need surgery??

In very simple terms strabismus is also known as cross-eyed. It is where your eyes ''look at each other''. I found a great website that can answer any question you have even about when to get it corrected. good luck!
