Hi, l was introduced to contacts about half a year ago and when my ophthalmologist gave me a pair of silicone soft lensesl felt like l was literally born again but after awhile my eyes kept getting tired and dry and l also felt outer body sensations in my eyes. It all seemed normal since everybody told me I'd just need some time to adjust, but that was not the case. The only time l felt comfortable with them was when l went skiing. (probably because my eyes were always moist and l had to blink a lot)

l was thinking of trying hard lenses, but I am not sure if l would not have the same problems with them too. I will be very thankful if l could hear your opinions on this matter.

Maybe you should try another brand.
I used Proclear lenses initially and they often felt uncomfortable. I switched to Vision Express Enhance brand (because they were cheaper) and I've never had any trouble with them.

Soft contact lenses feel uncomfortable

My eye doctor said for many people who have issues with comfort hard contacts r generally more uncomfortable than the soft lenses. There r specific lenses for people who have issues with moisture tell ur doctor ur concerns & he or she will come up with solutions such as changing ur lenses or adding eye drops to ur daily regimen. I can tell a difference when my eye doctor has switched my lenses to different kinds in the past & I complained right away or if I liked them I would call him & say these r more comfortable keep me with these.

Silicone is a hard substance to keep wet. If the lenses get dry it will make the eyes feel dry and tired and start blurring. The problem is that after a short while a film starts to build up on the lenses making them dry out and this requires that you either clean the film off or blink a lot more and use eye drops or all three. Skiing helps because it makes your eyes water and this moistens the lenses temporarily. Crying would also help. Contact your doctor for assistance.

Yes your eyes may not be moist enough for contacts. A specialist will be able to tell you. I wore hard contacts for a many years with great results. The main problem with them is that of dust getting under them & becoming lodged there.
